Terminated pregnancy

Intervention after a miscarriage

Pregnancy termination occurs when the development of the fetus stops before it becomes viable, usually in the first trimester. In some cases, an intervention may be necessary to remove the contents of the uterus, thus preventing possible health complications.

If your miscarriage has already been diagnosed and an instrumental procedure is required, our team can assist you in a timely manner.

Our medical team understands the emotions associated with a terminated pregnancy and is here to provide professional and caring support. We are committed to maintaining the best possible conditions to protect your health and fertility.

The process

Appointment information

Preparing for your appointment

Expect to be at the clinic for about 3 hours.
Be accompanied by someone for the trip home (preferable but not mandatory).

Do not eat or drink for 3 hours before your appointment.

Do not drive for 24 hours after the procedure.
Avoid activities requiring sustained alertness for 24 hours after the procedure.

Bring your health insurance card or IFH document.
Photo identification will be required at the reception desk.

Meeting with the nurse and ultrasound scan

After completing your health questionnaire, you will meet with a nurse. She will explain the procedure in detail. Because everyone reacts differently after a miscarriage, we understand that it can be difficult to come to an abortion clinic for a surgical procedure. Please do not hesitate to tell us about your situation if you feel the need.

The intervention

The instrumental procedure takes just a few minutes. The dilatation and aspiration technique is performed through the natural vagina and cervix. You will be given pain-relieving and relaxing medication during the procedure. A nurse will be with you at all times.

Rest and Recovery

You stay in the rest room for about 1 hour. A nurse will make sure you are comfortable, and the person accompanying you may be present at this stage. You will be given information and instructions for afterwards.

Home instructions

Please read carefully the information on the guidelines to follow following a terminated pregnancy.
