Abortion is a safe and simple procedure. The doctor uses a dilation and aspiration technique that takes 5 to 10 minutes. All our doctors are specially trained to perform instrumental abortions, and a nurse will accompany you throughout the procedure. Medications are offered for optimal comfort. Although the procedure is quick, the clinic visit takes about 3 hours.
If you are 14 weeks or more pregnant, the procedure may take 2 days. Laminar rods will need to be inserted the day before the procedure, to ensure smooth dilation of the cervix.

Abortion is not linked to infertility. It’s even possible to become pregnant again 2 weeks after the abortion. Although very very rare, some complications from an abortion can have consequences on fertility.
