Abortion is a safe and simple procedure. The doctor uses a dilation and aspiration technique that takes 5 to 10 minutes. All our doctors are specially trained to perform instrumental abortions, and a nurse will accompany you throughout the procedure. Medication is provided for optimal comfort. Although the procedure is quick, clinic attendance is approximately 3 hours.
If you are 14 weeks or more pregnant, the procedure may take 2 days. Laminar rods will need to be inserted the day before the procedure, to ensure smooth dilation of the cervix.
